I think it's absurd what is being made of Treyvon's attire. It was raining. If I saw someone walking down the street in a suit and tie in the rain, I'd be more suspect of his mental state than if they were were a hoodie to cover up.

What the George Zimmerman trial comes down to at is essence for supporters of either side is two things:
One, supporters of justice for Trayvon Martin focus on an unarmed individual walking down a public sidewalk. That's it. No hoodie, no "thug" persona, no school records, no marijuana, no "grid" on his teeth- nothing. Just an unarmed individual walking down the sidewalk.
For supporters of George Zimmerman, the focus is at the end of that story: an armed individual being physically attacked.
The law in Florida apparently protects any armed individual who uses deadly force against another individual who physically attacks, whether in perceived self-defense or otherwise.
I think that the ultimate purpose of the law as written by the NRA and promoted by ALEC is for only one thing: let the people know that they will always be vulnerable to armed individuals, so the answer is to arm yourself. In other words: gun sales.
